Course Content

The course provides you with the skills and knowledge to carry out manual handling tasks in a safe and healthy manner in accordance with the Code of Practice: Manual Tasks (2010), Work Health and Safety Legislation and organisational policies and procedures through a series of practical and theoretical components.

With an emphasis in the Health and Aged Care industry, on completion on this course you will be able to: 

  • Demonstrate warming up exercises to be done prior to commencing duty
  • Demonstrate safe work postures and movements
  • Participate in safe manual handling practices
  • Demonstrate safe and effective use of manual handling equipment (including hoists, slide sheets, walkers and wheelchairs)

All delivery and assessment will be in our simulated training rooms
