Entry Requirements 

To enrol, you need to:

1.Demonstrate Vocational Competency: Please outline your expertise in the area you wish to train and assess for us in the enrolment form.
2. Communication Skills: Have strong written and oral communication abilities and be willing to present to a class.
3. Computer Literacy: Be proficient with Microsoft Office and capable of conducting internet research. You do not need to be an expert, but you MUST know how to do the basics.
4. Technology Access: Ensure you have a stable internet connection and a computer at home to do your work (please bring a laptop to class).
5. Time Commitment: You will need to dedicate approximately 200 hours to out-of-class activities and assessments to complete this course.

*Please note: If you do not have a current workplace to conduct certain tasks, we can simulate a workplace situation in the classroom.

Our in-person classroom courses have three different formats –

Class Type Student Suitability Description Duration
Clustered Ideal for everyone. In-class training one week a month for 4 months (total – 18 days). 4 months to finish classwork.
Intensive Advanced students with prior training/academic experience and an ability to immerse themselves in the course for 3.5 weeks of continuous full-time study.
  • Normal Intensive – 3.5 weeks (total -18 days) of continuous classes.
  • Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays Intensive – 18 days of classwork, but only three days a week.
  • 3.5 weeks to finish classwork.
  • 6 weeks to finish classwork .
Saturdays Ideal for everyone. Training all day on Saturdays. 5 months to finish classwork.

Online formats –

Virtual Ideal for working students, parents or people who cannot commute. A real live classroom run virtually online via Microsoft Teams two evenings a week 15 weeks
Online Self-Paced Advanced students with prior training/academic experience and an ability to undertake sustained study on their own. Training is online, done at your own pace with the support of a trainer available. 4-5 hrs work a week recommended. Varies. 7-9 months average.
Approx. 600-2400 hours in total.

Completion of the TAE40122 qualification depends on each individual student, including their availability and previous experience.  

Regular submission of assessments is a requirement of the TAE40122 course.
A training and assessment schedule will be discussed with you and provided by your Trainer/Assessor.

To be eligible for funding you must have left school and have your primary place of residence in Western Australia and;

  • an Australian citizen;
  • permanent visa holder, or
  • holder of a subclass 300, 309, 444, 445, 461, 785, 790, or 820 visa;
  • secondary holder of a temporary visa of sub-class 188, 457, 482, 489, 491 or 494 visa;
  • holder of a Bridging Visa E (subclasses 050 and 051) where the visa holder has made a valid application for a visa of subclass 785 or 790;
  • Ukrainian citizens who are holders of a visa sub-class 449 or 786;
  • Afghan citizens who are holders of a visa sub-class 449, and
  • holders of a bridging visa who are eligible to work and who have made a valid application for a subclass 866.
