This skill set consists of the following units of competencies:

  • SIRXSLS002 Follow point-of-sale procedures
  • SIRXIND001 Work effectively in a service environment
  • SIRXCEG001 Engage the customer
  • SIRXIND003 Organise personal work requirements
  • SIRXCOM001 Communicate in the workplace to support team and customer outcomes
  • SIRXPDK001 Advise on products and services

You will learn how to communicate effectively and provide quality service to both internal and external customers and deal effectively with people from a range of social and cultural groups with respect and sensitivity. You’ll also gain negotiation, conflict management and problem-solving skills.

Additionally, you’ll learn how to follow infection prevention and control policies and procedures, implement standard and transmission-based precautions and respond to infection risks in the workplace within a customer service context.

This course is delivered over either 3 or 6 weeks.

Completion of the course depends on each individual student and when all assessments are successfully completed.

This course is free under the Jobs and Skills WA Skills Ready initiative. All fees are 100% subsidised by the WA State Government so that there is no cost to you. Fees apply for non-eligible students.
